Absolute and utter heaven. This home is a true rare gem and we had the best stay in every possible way. We stayed for a month with two young children and everything felt so easy and the view from the windows and garden even on a rainy day makes your heart sing!

We had a brilliant stay at Uwch Y Mor for 5 nights. Gwen was super helpful and sent out lots of information before we left including local recommendations. The cottage is beautiful, very clean and in a lovely quiet area. We were left a welcome package with milk, butter, Welsh cakes etc and there is a well stocked store cupboard. We were able to walk into the village and along the seafront, walk part of the Pilgrims Way from the doorstep including Aber Falls and were lucky enough to see wild ponies in the mountains behind the house. Staying at Gwen’s place just outside of Llanfairfechan was a dream come true for our family. Everything was perfect. Gwen is the most kind, thoughtful, responsive host we have ever encountered. The place itself is beautiful – quaint, cosy, well-equipped, and spotlessly clean. Our children were in heaven with books, LEGO and games aplenty and the whole family relaxed as we soaked up the country air and admired the stunning views over the ocean, especially in the evenings. Gwens house is absolutely beautiful and the views were incredible. Not only was the house spotlessly clean but it felt cosy and immediately like a home away from home.
The house was easy to find and within 10 minutes drive of Aber Falls distillery and 15 minutes drive of Conwy centre so there was plenty to do.

The location was perfect, and easy to get to Anglesey, Llandudno, Conwy, and lots of National Trust places. Llanfairfechan and Aber Falls are very close and are well worth a visit too.
The cottage itself was beautiful and had everything we needed, it was perfect for our 2 little boys and they loved the toys and books in the house, plus the beach toys in the shed. The beds were really comfortable as well, and we all slept very well. It was a real bonus having an electric car charger- saved us having to find a public charger elsewhere, and was easy to use.
Thanks again Gwen, I’m sure we’ll be back again in future!

Gwen’s cottage was truly amazing. Aside from the setting (the views are magnificent), the cottage was charming and absolutely lovely to stay in. It really felt very special. The bedrooms were a great size and super comfortable, and sitting around the fire in the lovely living space really felt a bit magical. Gwen provided great information about where to eat etc., and was extremely proactive in making sure we were having a great time. She has missed absolutely nothing in setting up the cottage and had absolutely everything we needed. My boys loved all the kids books/comics that were available. None of us wanted to leave. I have stayed in a lot of Airbnb accommodation and Gwen’s place may well be the very best!

A beautiful and tastefully decorated cottage with a lovely, well-kept and enclosed garden. Very clean and clearly cared for throughout, excellently equipped kitchen with dishwasher and plenty of crockery/cooking equipment, lovely dining area, easy to use and efficient warm log burner in the sitting room with smart TV, comfortable beds in good sized bedrooms with decent quality shutters, lovely welcome package on arrival including the basics and treats, great detailed guides for the house and nearby amenities and local walks/places to visit, and a clearly invested and genuine welcoming host in Gwen. Topped off by being in a beautiful location with stunning views out onto the North Coast through the living room.

We had a wonderful week in this lovely cottage. It was immaculately clean on our arrival. We were a family group of 5, ranging in age from 15 to 86, plus a dog. Everything had been considered, to make our stay comfortable and stress free. The wi-fi is good, and the rainfall shower is very good. The views from the garden, porch and upstairs bedrooms across to Anglesey are amazing, especially at sun set. Wonderful walks on the doorstep along a tumbling little river

We have just returned from a week at Gwens cottage , what a fabulous week we’ve had ! The cottage is lovely , the garden areas are wonderful & the views are amazing ! The location of the cottage is perfect for visiting Conway / Llandudno / Betws y coed & Anglesey , it really is a perfect spot !
We made the most of the garden each evening when we got back from our days out, we enjoyed the evening sun looking across at the beautiful beach & sea with a nice glass of wine , it was so peaceful ..
The Co-op in the village is very well stocked & we made a few trips here to get fresh Welsh bread & fresh meat for the many bbqs we did !
We also ate at The Gladstone in Penmenmawr ( 5 mins in a car ) it has a great beer garden & is dog friendly ! Food was really good / great prices & very friendly smiley staff .
We also ate at The Seagrass down by the beach , amazing breakfast, lots specials on the board ! We also visited the cafe right next to the beach & enjoyed delicious cake& coffee.

We had a truly memorable holiday, everything we were imagining it to be and more. The cottage was lovely, well equipped and with a cupboard full of basic cooking ingredients so for those who want to cook, there’s a variety of spices condiments etc. The welcome pack was much appreciated especially for the fact that we arrived in the early hours of the morning. Gwen provided us with loads of information and was very responsive. Everything is well explained, how appliances work etc. There are some lovely walks from the cottage and a Coop is about 15 minute walk away. We rented a car and there’s ample space for parking. My favourite part was watching the view from the porch while sipping tea and waving to the friendly neighbour walking his dogs. I had a good feeling about this cottage right from the first time it came up on my search and I’m so glad that it was the one we chose. We were a family of 5 and my children loved it too. I would love to return and would definitely stay there again.

We had an amazing holiday, the cottage was everything we could have wished for!
It has a lovely cosy homely feel to it which makes you start your holiday from the moment you step through the door.
Spotlessly clean and very well equipped.
The weather was superb and so we made good use of the garden either in the morning or after a day out.
Gwen asked if we had any dietary requirements and when she found out we had people on a Gluten Free diet the welcome pack was beyond expectations, something I have never experienced before!
Gwen was also very helpful before our visit with information on places to visit and local walks.
We had our 3year old grandson with us and the cottage had lots of toys both inside and outside in the shed to keep him happy. The kite was a big hit with him to take to the beach. All in all we had a fabulous holiday and look forward to returning soon.

We loved your quirky cottage. It is full of character and wonderful little items dotted around the place. The cottage is located in a lovely location with great views of the coast and great for dog walks around the village. We were lucky enough to meet both sets of neighbours for our short stay and both families were very friendly and stopped to have a good natter.
While we were here we managed to visit Penrhyn Castle, Penmon lighthouse (which was great to see close up and also from the cottage) Llanberis Slate Museum and train ride with the dog and even a lovely ice cream, Traeth Mawr beach (which was lovely and quieter than Newborough beach). On a number of occasions we headed down to the promenade , we were even lucky enough to see a beautiful sunset. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future . Thank you.

My wife and I visited Uwch y Mor for the first time in May. The first thing we noticed was its idyllic location, with stunning views from this beautiful cottage and its garden of fabulous scenery including the mountains and sea. On entry we found the cottage spotlessly clean throughout and well stocked. A few local treats were included in the kitchen.
The village is easily accessible by vehicle, or on foot and has all the necessary pubs, shops and take aways to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
The cottage provided a good base for our walks and excursions, which included Bangor, Llandudno, Portmeirion, Conwy, Betws y Coed and the local nature reserve alongside the seafront of LLanfairfechan.
We had a lovely, relaxing holiday and look forward to returning next year. My wife called the cottage her dream house.

Our stay at Uwch-y-mor was great. The cottage is lovely, the surrounding areas are stunning and we will definitely be back. It’s so nice to find a holiday cottage that is so homely and well looked after. Gwen was a great host, really helpful – even made some tailored suggestions for things to do during get changeable April weather with 2 young kids.
The cottage is roomy, cosy, well equipped and to a high standard. Lots of nice personal touches and those little things that make a difference. My sons eyes lit up when seeing the box of retro Lego. It seems like Gwen has thought of everything and we cannot fault our stay at Uwch-y-mor.
There’s so much to do, so close by that we will have to return and we’re already looking forward to.

I can’t praise Uwch Y Mor highly enough! Our group of four had the most wonderful stay here. We felt completely at home and didn’t want to leave. Spoilt for choice with things to do nearby – lots of footpaths on the hills and mountains behind the cottage and lots to see and do within a 30 minute drive or less. We enjoyed a fabulous short break in this superb cottage in July. One of the best cottages we’ve ever rented, it felt instantly comfortable and welcoming. Brilliant decor, facilities and features, and a view of the Straits and Anglesey that you could never tire of. It has been a joy to get away from home for a week, in such a beautiful part of the world.

The cottage was spotless, had everything we could need and was very comfortable, we slept very well! I loved the shower, and the log burner was very easy to use and made us toasty warm on the evening we lit it.
We had mixed weather which made for some dramatic views over the Menai Strait and up the mountains. The nature reserves along the coast from Llanfairfechan were an unexpected pleasure – we have done lots of walks – would recommend Newborough beach and Llanddwyn, so beautiful, take a picnic!!
Aber Falls was a lovely walk, the oak woodland is full of birds.
If you enjoy visiting gardens, Bodnant is on another level! Highly recommend.

A socially distanced perfect holiday!
Wow! We have had the ‘BEST’ time in this wonderful cottage. As a family of 5 with 3 young children we have found everything we need and really enjoyed time on a great Llanfairfechan beach – what a hidden gem it is here! The boys enjoyed using the kite and our little one enjoyed feeding the ducks too. As farmers we of course visited the local butcher and enjoyed lots of home cooked meals! My parents joined us for 3 nights and were also VERY impressed!
The food in the cupboards, flowers and Welsh food is a lovely touch. We have enjoyed visiting Aber Falls, Stack lighthouse and Zip World Forest for some high ropes and rollercoaster fun. They also enjoyed the lego!
The views have been spectacular, particularly the sunsets in between the thunderstorms. The weather has been soooo hot! (unusual for this country).
We will certainly be back in the future and a huge thank you Gwen for all your help leading up to our stay.

We all had a lovely stay, the cottage and surrounding areas were stunning. We went to Anglesey. Jenny and Marnie went into the smallest house, and we all had fish & chips and sat on the front to eat them. We also went to Colwyn Bay, which was really nice for Marnie to stretch her little legs on the beach. Last night (Wed) me and Jen went to the pub for a couple of hours and had a nice time talking to a few locals, although the walk back (stagger) was a bit scary Ha Ha.Thanks again for letting us stay Gwen, it was brill. The cottage is absolutely charming combining an old world charm with all the modern amenities you could possibly need! The views are beautiful, quiet surroundings, had all the board games and movies you could want for a rainy day and we were greeted with delicious Welsh products and a homemade cake! And the welcome gift of Welsh produce was very thoughtful. The location was perfect for exploring this part of Wales, but the highlight for us was sitting on the terrace and enjoying the sea view with a G&T!

They could not praise you enough for the cleanliness and warmth of the cottage.
All our needs were catered for and thank you for the extra welsh food items – a lovely thought.
Phil and I enjoyed the walks in the morning, Aber Falls, one directly behind the cottage and two larger ones on the North Wales Coastal Path.
